What is the Expected Level of Discomfort in Fraxel Treatments?

Despite so many beauty products and treatments it is difficult to stop the natural aging that takes away the youthfulness of our skin. Aging affects our skin’s texture and our appearance by giving an older look to our face and skin.
Fraxel treatment is one of the ways that has been proved to reverse the signs of aging and keep you youthful. The following article deals with a basic introduction about Fraxel treatment and its miraculous effects to curb aging signs.

Fraxel is a laser technology which can naturally slow down the aging process and give you back your youthful appearance.  Fraxel can treat lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, sun damaged skin and even actinic keratosis effectively.
It has been approved by FDA to treat coagulated soft tissues, pigmented skin and even works on wrinkled skin. Fraxel helps to heal the skin fast and enhances the beauty of the face.
It cannot be used to treat face beauty but also can work upon neck, arms, hands and chest portions. The good thing is fraxel treatment work effectively on all skin types and even tanned skin.

How does the Fraxel Technology work?

Fraxel laser is an innovative technology that can reinvigorate the affected areas of the skin by boosting the collagen production of your skin. It can even clear off the age spots, dark spots and even the scars by penetrating deep into the dermis.
There are two types of fractional technology- fractional lasers and the CO2 laser systems.
For patients below 50 simple Fraxel treatment is recommended. But for patients with wrinkles and deep scars the fractioned CO2 lasers works more effectively. The CO2 system laser requires certainly takes more time than the simple Fraxel treatment.
The erbium glass fractional lasers works best on following skin conditions:
  • Sun damaged, wrinkled , and aged skin
  • Some cases of melasma
  • Surgical scars
  • To reduce the fine lines near the eye region
  • Can improve skin tone

How to deal with pain during the treatment?

Well to be true, the fraxel treatment is indeed painful. People with a super sensitive skin are bound to experience pain during the treatment. Otherwise, the treatment involves mild to moderate levels of discomfort and pain.
And generally pain is an important factor for most people in deciding to get the treatment or not. But still there are ways to keep away from excess pain and have a comfortable fraxel laser session.
Generally, a numbing cream is used to keep away the patient from excess of discomfort. Dr Numb is a topical anesthetic numbing cream which if applied to the part to be treated can really cut off excess pain. This can be applied one hour prior to the treatment and covered with a saran wrap. After an hour the body can be checked for the sensation and accordingly the treatment can be given.
Dr Numb’s cream is one of the safest numbing creams in the market which has no ill-effects on the health of the individual. It has even been approved by FDA for usage in dermatological treatments. It is used by tattoo artists, beauticians and even doctors to provide a painless treatment to their patients.
Dr Numb’s cream consists of lidocaine which numbs the skin for a long time.  For dual fraxel treatments where swelling lasts for a longer time, Dr numb’s cream can help in getting quick relief.
Dr numb’s cream can even be applied for relieving pain after the treatment.

How to decide if you need a Fraxel?

You should not decide for yourself whether you need a fraxel or not. It’s best to check with the doctor or aesthetician if your skin really needs fraxel laser treatment or there are alternative ways to treat it.
Fraxel laser treatment can work on all types of skin and give improved results. Mostly people with a highly damaged skin condition, excess of acne and unnatural skin texture go for Fraxel treatment.
And sometimes money and time can also be a deciding factor in going for fraxel or not.
Fraxel treatment is not receommnded for pregnant women, people with a cold sore. They should consult first before going for this.

You can get it done anywhere and in any size, ranging from your neck, arms, wrist to you face and back. Well, that’s your choice completely. But what more important is the tattoo aftercare. Nowadays people love to brag about their new tattoos and show off their design. They hardly give their design a chance to heal. The consequences of which are that the color fades, designs bleed and scabs occur. On other hand, if you have been a little patient the same design would have been a colorful and beautiful ink job. Hence, if you are planning to get a new tattoo or recently have tried some, here are few essential tips for aftercare you must follow.

Follow the instruction: While you get a tattoo done, the tattooist tells you a number of dos and don’ts. Be a good listener and then follow the instructions precisely.  They are professional and have experience of years in the same field. They certainly have the knowledge of the product and different healing problems. Keep in mind, the tattooist is not responsible for what happens to your tattoo afterwards. Thus, it is your responsibility to take care of the design and your skin once you leave the parlor.

Do not wrap: Some people wrap the tattoo to keep it safe. But, unless you are instructed to do so by the artist don’t attempt it. Remember, that it is important to keep the tattoo clean. It is just like an open injury, you cannot take any risks with this. Generally, the tattooists will advise you for washing it with an unscented and anti-bacterial soap. And you will be asked to let it air dry instead of wrapping it over and over again.

Moisturize: Undoubtedly, you need to let it dry for better and faster healing. But, moisturizing holds its own importance. The reason being, if you let it dry, thick scab formation can occur, which is never desirable. Moreover, in some cases it has been observed that drying out leads to slow recovery procedure and it even harm the tattoo. You can consult the tattooist to advise a cream or ointment to use.

Don’t try unnecessary medications: The tattoo process includes needling of your skin. Hence it is obvious that your skin will weep in the first couple of days. Along this, a fluid, clear or slightly colored will also appear out of your tattoo. But there is nothing to fear in this. It does not mean that there is something wrong with your skin or something is coming out of your tattoo. Don’t try any medications on your own. All you need to do is just clean it as instructed and let it heal with time.

Don’t panic: If your skin becomes sensitive, red or slightly inflamed, then don’t panic. It is not something different. Your skin has undergone a change and painful treatment. A number of people experience some kind of irritation after getting a new tattoo for few days. However, if the symptoms continue for more than 4 to 5 days, you can consult your tattooist for better advice.

Healing a tattoo is not that challenging. Just you need to be a little patient and careful!

Going for Waxing! Here Are Some Tips

It was my first experience with the bikini wax and like every other girl, I was too embarrassed to expose my very personal space in front of the aesthetician and also scared of the pain. I have never been conscious so much in my life before and it is obvious as it’s not easy to lie down in front of a stranger and get every bit of your hair completely removed from your skin.
But my experience was not as awful as I thought it to be. And the credit goes to Dr numb’s cream. I could feel no pain except for some super-sensitive areas. The numbing cream was so effective that I easily went through the complete bikini session in just no time.

Few important things to be kept in mind before you go for Bikini wax:

·        1. Don’t go for bikini wax if you one of the following health conditions
If you are diabetic patient, don’t experiment with bikini wax as this can be dangerous for you.
Even people with any sort of skin allergy should also stay away from bikini wax till their skin doesn’t get back to normal.
If you take Retinol or Accutane then also bikini wax session is not meant for you.
In any case if you schedule your appointment for bikini wax, then do consult your doctor once and follow accordingly.

·        2. Pain is a big consideration
This is something you cannot ignore especially if it is your first time. So, it’s always advisable not to book your dates while you are menstruating as the body is already sensitive during this time. Even pregnant women should also not go for bikini wax as it would be nothing but a painful experience for them.
And people who are very sensitive towards pain can ask the aestheticians to make use of numbing creams, if they are not using it. And also make sure your waxer has enough of experience as she knows how to make it less painful for you.

·         3. Ensure your hair have the right length
Some people think that shorter hair will be easier to pull without causing any pain but this is not the case. Rather, shorter hair is hard to remove as compared to hair grown to about ¼ to ½ inch.
Also do not shave them immediately before the bikini wax session. Let them just grow at their own pace and if they are too long, your aesthetician will automatically trim them for the desired length for bikini wax.

·         4. Avoid swimming
This is to be followed before and after the bikini wax session. It is always recommended to exfoliate your skin before your bikini wax session. Avoid all kinds of muscular exercises from swimming to gym.
Post your bikini wax session you can use ice so that the redness and itching goes away quickly.

·         5. Decide for the clothing
Some people are comfortable in lying complete bare and getting their hair removed. But some are conscious of exposing themselves and being noticed even during the wax. So, for such people a paper thong is best to insert at the opening and feel comfortable during the wax.

If you are wearing any piece of cloth, underwear or skirts then just make sure it is washable easily later to clean the wax instead of the one which needs dry cleaning.

At last, talk clearly to your anesthetician if you have doubts or are not comfortable. She will guide you in the best way and bring you at ease before the final date arrives. Also she will guide the various positions in which waxing can be less painful. She will guide you on how to care for your skin after the wax session.

The Killing Pain Of Brazilian Waxing

Bikini wax or the Brazilian wax has gained much popularity among women over the last few years. From young teenagers to 60 year old woman, everybody now visits the salon often for getting the painful bikini wax. It has become more a routine and a usual thing now.
This is an experience of a 20-year old girl in Melbourne, Australia, who almost came back from her death bed due to a Brazilian wax session. It went to such an extreme condition that she had to be admitted to an emergency room post two weeks the Brazilian wax.

The author of journal of Clinical Infectious Diseases said "Our case is notable, because it illustrates the infectious risks of pubic hair removal in a patient with diabetes," the authors concluded. "The beauty industry is growing at an unprecedented rate and more invasive and potentially harmful procedures are increasingly available."
Otherwise, also it is recommended that people who have a weak immune system that includes patients of diabetes, HIV should follow such beauty treatments. They should first consult the doctor if they want to.

What worsened her condition?

Although the Brazilian wax was performed by a trainee beauty therapist still the patient underwent great pain and even was bleeding during the procedure. Finally, when she was taken to the hospital, it was found that she is a patient of type 1 diabetes for which she was not even taking any precautionary steps.
The Brazilian wax session resulted into high fever, agonizing pain and swelling of her genitalia and also few rashes at her chest and neck.
It made it difficult for the doctors to examine her situation due to the excruciating pain she had.
Somehow the doctors managed to take her blood samples and came out with the result that she is infected with the life-threatening bacteria, Streptococcus pyogenes.
The reason of her such a situation was clear now. Despite a weekend immune system she chose a hot-wax session.  Finally, the complete examination revealed that she had is also infected with herpes.
She was treated for 10 days in the hospital with antibiotics and other powerful drugs that brought her back to normal condition.

Lessons not learnt

Around six months later, when her condition was totally normal she again tried to shave off her pubic hair. Subsequently, she developed a reappearance of herpes and multiple skin infections.
She was gifted with life again but still she was keen to remove her pubic hair.
This is a great lesson for all those people who are obsessed with the beauty treatments but have a weak immune system.
Sometimes the salons do not use sterilized equipments which become easy source to spread hepatitis.
The beauty therapists must take care that they maintain proper hygiene and use sterile devices especially for beauty treatments that involve skin touch at most vulnerable parts of body to catch infection.

And also people must check whether a beauty salon they are visiting  is reputed and whether they are maintaining proper hygiene standards or not.

Is Tattoo Pain Unbearable?

With the increase in the number of people getting tattoos, the fear of tattoo pain and infection has also greatly increased. People often ask, “Did That Pain, or how much does it pain?” And the answers are somewhat like:

It depends where you get it. The one on my lower back only got close to unbearable when they were directly over my vertebrae. The one on top of my foot was constant, pleading pain. The guy actually had to lean on my foot to keep it still because the needle was hitting so many nerves that were causing my foot to twitch with pain. I actually left that tattoo as black and white because I couldn’t bear the thought of sitting through the shading!” – crayfish (courtesy:weddingbee.com)

They hurt more or less in different areas for sure. Healing is painful in itself too… they itch so bad it hurts and you can’t scratch so it makes me crazy.”
The back was not that bad, I was able to finish all the way through no problem. But the chest one was almost unbearable. The chest is a bad spot.” (Courtesy: yahooanswers.com)

How it Feels?

It hurts of course, it does! For some, it’s really hard to even describe. There are areas where tattoos hurt the most. The reason is obvious. There’s a thick needle that goes faster and pierces into your skin.

It also depends on the amount of pain one can bear. What one person considers painless could be devastating to another. If you have immense patience, you won’t feel it much. It’d feel like a pin scratch to you! But, if you cannot bear even a little, getting a tattoo would be like dying for you! It could make you feel like a getting a hit at the scrotum from the bull’s horn. :D

How to get a ‘PAINLESS’ tattoo session?

Numbing Cream – the best remedy to get a painless tattoo! Yes, by using a numbing solution one can reduce the tattoo pain. And, among the myriads of numbing options, Dr. Numb is the most popular one today.

Dr. Numb is known as the SAFEST numbing cream to be used with tattooing. It is very quick and effective in numbing the skin area undergoing tattooing. Above all, it does not interfere with the tattoo ink, so you need not to worry about the distortion of the tattoo art. Also, there are no side-effects of the cream, and will have a numbing effect of UP TO 4 HOURS!

With Dr. Numb, you need not to tolerate long hours for conquering the tattoo pain. Dr. Numb is contains Lidocaine– an effective anesthetic, that too in sufficient quantity, (about 5%) as approved by the FDA. It also contains Vitamin E which makes it to work quickly.
No matter, what skin tone or type you have – sensitive, dry, oily, black, white, etc.,  Dr. Numb cream is widely accepted. It contains the right amount of chemicals which can work on all skin types without experiencing any pain.
Dr. Numb is water resistant and does not leave its numbing effect in water. Getting a tattoo without applying Dr. Numb Cream would be really painful. Apply it well on the surface after cleaning the area with water and tapping it dry. The cream should be applied at least an hour prior to the tattoo procedure. This is what all you need to do to get numbness and painless tattoo art.

Tips to Control Tattoo Pain

·         NEVER have a tattoo during a hangover. You’ll feel more pain because the body will be a little delicate.
·         DON'T have a tattoo when you are not physically well or your tattoo pain could be a lot more painful.
·         Choose an area of your body that is less bony and has more flesh.
·         The pain tolerance is highest in the morning because of the peak levels of adrenaline. Therefore, schedule your tattoo for the morning.

USE numbing gel to get an ‘ouch less’ tattoo. If you are going to have tattoos in a sensitive place, use some of it to calm your tattoo pain.

Am I Allergic to Brown Bread???

Often people look for alternatives to fill their stomach in order to stay healthy and ‘fat-free,’ like whole wheat bread (brown bread). However, a harsh truth is that these alternatives can produce far bitter consequences, without even letting you know about them. Have a look.

Do you feel pain after eating certain types of pain? Do you feel a bloated stomach everytime you intake pasta or brown bread? DO you feel like vomit after eating wheat or cereals? If your answer to these questions is ‘Yes’ or ‘Sometimes’, you are likely to have Wheat allergy, Coeliac! Wondering, yet true!

coeliac-disease

Here is all what you should know about wheat allergy or Coeliac. Have a look!

Coeliac disease – an introduction

Coeliac disease is an auto-immune disorder of the small intestine that occurs in hereditary predisposed people of all ages. People who suffer from coeliac disease have an immune system that reacts unusually to the gluten - a protein found in wheat, barley and oats, causing small intestine damage.

In coeliac disease, the immune system mistakenly attacks the healthy tissues. It is neither an allergy nor intolerance to gluten. The immune system here mistakenly assumes substances present inside the gluten as a threat to the body and attacks them. This, in turn, damages the surface of the small intestine, which disturbs the body's ability to absorb nutrients from food. The actual cause of this behavior is not really clear yet, but a person’s genetic make-up and the environment are the prime cause.

Who gets Coeliac disease?

Abdominal PainAnybody of any age and sex can get coeliac disease.

Knowingly unknowingly, people who are born with genetic predisposition are likely to develop coeliac disorder. The genes that are associated with coeliac disease are HLA DQ2 and HLA DQ8. People who are affected by coeliac disease have either one or both of these genes.

If a parent has coeliac disorder, the child is likely to have it too. If one identical twin has coeliac disease, 70% chances are there that the other twin will also have coeliac disease (may not necessarily be diagnosed at the same time).

Environmental factors are also responsible for triggering coeliac disease in infants, children or elders in life.

Symptoms of Coeliac disease?

In the coeliac, the food is not absorbed properly due to the inflammation in the lining of the small bowel. As such, you don’t absorb nutrients well into your body due to which various symptoms may develop -
  • It leads to the deficiency of IgA in people with coeliac disease. In turn, this condition features an increased risk of the disease too. This condition may further cause an increased risk of infections and autoimmune disease.
  • It can cause Dermatitis herpetiformis, which is an itchy condition of the skin. This features small-bowel changes that are identical to those in coeliac disease.
  • Severe malnutrition or bowel symptoms can also cause growth failure and/or pubertal delay late in childhood.
  • Significant complications during pregnancy can occur in case of coeliac disease such as miscarriage, intrauterine growth restriction, low birth weight and preterm birth.
  • Anemia may also develop in several ways, such as iron malabsorption may cause iron deficiency anemia, and folic acid and vitamin B12 malabsorption may give rise to megaloblastic anemia.
  • The failure of absorbing carbohydrates and fats may also cause weight loss and fatigue or lack of energy.
  • Abnormal liver function tests may be seen.
  • Abdominal pain, cramping, abdominal distension and mouth ulcers may also trouble the affectant. The continuous damage of the small intestine may lead to the growth of lactose intolerance to a degree.
  • Other common symptoms include excess wind, bloating, diarrhea and tiredness or weakness.

Can coeliac disease be cured?

Such people remain sensitive to gluten throughout their life which means they can never be cured. By following a few important things can significantly control its effects:

  • Strictly follow a gluten free diet for lifetime to allow the condition to be managed effectively.it is the only recognized medical treatment for coeliac disease.
  • Avoid eating food that contains wheat, barley, rye. Foods from gluten-free and hygienic like oats are safe to eat.
  • Other than a gluten-free diet, doctors may ask you to take some vitamin, calcium and iron supplements, at least for the first six months after diagnosis.

Prevent Pain from Hair Waxing

Some tips for waxing your underarms

·         If you know your skin is too sensitive then there is no harm in using a numbing cream or taking a painkiller.
·         To make it less painful, scrub your underarms and clean them with warm water.
·         After you are done with the cleaning part, apply the hot wax in the same direction of hair growth. Since your underarm has hair growth in two directions so you need to wax it twice opposite to the direction of hair growth.
·         For waxing stretch your arm by taking your hand behind your head. This will stretch the hair and make it easy to pull them out.
·         After removing all hair, wash your armpits with cold water to remove the left over wax.

·         Don’t use any deodorants or body sprays post waxing to avoid irritation.

·         Waxing the bikini area

This sounds scary to most people specially the first timers. Bikini wax is undoubtedly painful because it involves removing hair from the most sensitive area of the body.  Hard wax is the best one to remove your pubic hair as it sticks better to the hair there.
Many people have the notion that consuming alcohol may help them avoid the pain experienced during the bikini wax. But this is indeed not true.
There is a more effective way to have a painless bikini wax and that is by using a numbing cream. Dr numb’s cream can really help you to avoid the sharp pain due to bikini wax. It is one of the most trusted numbing creams which have no side-effects.

Tips for bikini wax

  •             First decide how much hair you want to get removed. And clearly talk about it with your aesthetician. This can help you in avoiding the panic during the wax.
  •       Exfoliate your skin before you lie down for your bikini wax session.
  •          If you are waxing your bikini area yourself it’s good to keep a mirror in front to get your desired results. If a professional is doing it then lie down in a relaxed mood as she will make sure it gets perfect for you.
  •       Don’t go for bikini wax during your periods and make sure your hair have enough length as it becomes easier to pull them out.
