The Killing Pain Of Brazilian Waxing

Bikini wax or the Brazilian wax has gained much popularity among women over the last few years. From young teenagers to 60 year old woman, everybody now visits the salon often for getting the painful bikini wax. It has become more a routine and a usual thing now.
This is an experience of a 20-year old girl in Melbourne, Australia, who almost came back from her death bed due to a Brazilian wax session. It went to such an extreme condition that she had to be admitted to an emergency room post two weeks the Brazilian wax.

The author of journal of Clinical Infectious Diseases said "Our case is notable, because it illustrates the infectious risks of pubic hair removal in a patient with diabetes," the authors concluded. "The beauty industry is growing at an unprecedented rate and more invasive and potentially harmful procedures are increasingly available."
Otherwise, also it is recommended that people who have a weak immune system that includes patients of diabetes, HIV should follow such beauty treatments. They should first consult the doctor if they want to.

What worsened her condition?

Although the Brazilian wax was performed by a trainee beauty therapist still the patient underwent great pain and even was bleeding during the procedure. Finally, when she was taken to the hospital, it was found that she is a patient of type 1 diabetes for which she was not even taking any precautionary steps.
The Brazilian wax session resulted into high fever, agonizing pain and swelling of her genitalia and also few rashes at her chest and neck.
It made it difficult for the doctors to examine her situation due to the excruciating pain she had.
Somehow the doctors managed to take her blood samples and came out with the result that she is infected with the life-threatening bacteria, Streptococcus pyogenes.
The reason of her such a situation was clear now. Despite a weekend immune system she chose a hot-wax session.  Finally, the complete examination revealed that she had is also infected with herpes.
She was treated for 10 days in the hospital with antibiotics and other powerful drugs that brought her back to normal condition.

Lessons not learnt

Around six months later, when her condition was totally normal she again tried to shave off her pubic hair. Subsequently, she developed a reappearance of herpes and multiple skin infections.
She was gifted with life again but still she was keen to remove her pubic hair.
This is a great lesson for all those people who are obsessed with the beauty treatments but have a weak immune system.
Sometimes the salons do not use sterilized equipments which become easy source to spread hepatitis.
The beauty therapists must take care that they maintain proper hygiene and use sterile devices especially for beauty treatments that involve skin touch at most vulnerable parts of body to catch infection.

And also people must check whether a beauty salon they are visiting  is reputed and whether they are maintaining proper hygiene standards or not.
